Legal/Compliance/Audit/Governance Legal Services Employment Type: Regular Full time Work Model: Hybrid (2 days in office) Language: English is required, French is an asset. As a Counsel, Client Solutions (Regulatory) you will provide general legal advice and direction to various stakeholders, with an emphasis on supporting our property and casualty insurance business. You will support a range of strategic projects, offer guidance and assistance to our compliance and privacy teams, and review, draft and negotiate contracts. Providing legal advice and guidance on various issues related to all facets of our property and casualty business, including both personal and commercial lines of business.
Negotiating, reviewing and drafting contracts (such as distribution, reinsurance and networking agreements), insurance policies and endorsements, and internal guidelines. Cultivating and maintaining effective relationships with key legal and business personnel. Representing the organization in industry groups and committees, pro-actively identifying and actioning process improvements,
and keeping current on legislation and legal developments You use critical thinking skills to recognize assumptions, evaluate arguments, draw conclusions and proactively propose solutions.
You have a minimum of 5 years of broad and progressive legal experience in the insurance industry, with a particular focus on property and casualty insurance, including both personal and commercial lines. or a Bachelor of Laws (LL.degree and are licensed to practice law in a Canadian province or territory. Expected salary/hourly range $104,717 - $154,700+ The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.
