Itec is seeking aSystems Engineerwho can integrate across domains and drive robust, manufacturable solutions from concept to production for a world‑class manufacturing leader. The successful candidate will design, build, and support complex equipment and systems that combine mechanical, electrical, hardware and software components.The Systems Engineer will own system‑level requirements, architecture, integration, verification and production support for multi‑discipline products. You will work closely with mechanical, electrical, software, and test teams, as well as manufacturing, to ensure safe, reliable, and cost‑effective systems that meet customer and regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and manage system requirements, traceability and specifications across mechanical, electrical, control and software domains.Create and maintain system architecture, block diagrams, interface definitions and integration plans.Lead cross‑functional design reviews and drive resolution of system‑level issues.Coordinate hardware/software integration, including embedded controls, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, actuators and mechanical assemblies.Develop and execute system verification and validation plans (test procedures, acceptance criteria, test reports).Support prototyping, commissioning and production ramp: troubleshoot issues, implement corrective actions and improve designs for manufacturability.Work with suppliers to specify components, evaluate options and manage vendor integration.Contribute to risk assessments, safety analyses (FMEA, HAZOP where applicable) and maintain compliance with applicable standards.Document system designs, BOMs, wiring/connection diagrams,
firmware/software release notes and change records.Mentor junior engineers and promote systems thinking across teams.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or related discipline. Master’s preferred.5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or OEM environment working on multi‑discipline systems (mechanical + electrical + controls + software).Demonstrated experience with system integration of embedded controls, PLCs, industrial networks, sensors and actuators.Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and common manufacturing processes.Proficiency with software/hardware co‑design, embedded systems, firmware concepts and HMI development.Experience developing and executing verification/validation protocols and test plans.Familiarity with requirements management and traceability tools (e.G., DOORS, Jama, Jira).Hands‑on troubleshooting skills and experience supporting commissioning and production.Knowledge of regulatory/safety standards relevant to the product (industry specific) and experience with FMEA and root‑cause analysis.Excellent communication skills and ability to lead cross‑functional teams.Technical Skills & ToolsCAD experience (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar) — ability to review mechanical designs.Electrical schematics and wiring diagram literacy (EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical an asset).PLC platforms (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, etc.) and embedded controller experience.Programming/firmware experience (C/C++, Python, or similar) and familiarity with RTOS or embedded Linux are assets.Test automation tools, data acquisition and measurement instrumentation.Version control and issue tracking tools (Git, SVN, Jira).Personal AttributesSystems thinker with attention to detail and pragmatic decision making.Cooperative, adaptable and able to manage competing priorities.Strong problem‑solving and mentoring orientation.Location:Sudbury, ONSalary Range:$80,000 - $100,000#J-18808-Ljbffr
