Health is seeking a champion with significant management and leadership experience to join our Indigenous Health department. Reporting to the Executive Director, Indigenous Health and working in partnership with the other Indigenous Health leaders in the portfolio, the Director, Indigenous Health Service Transformation provides leadership and strategic direction for the programs and services to improve the health status of Indigenous people. The Director, Indigenous Health Service Transformation is jointly responsible for the overall operational management of programs and services with responsibility for additional assigned program(s) within the Indigenous Health portfolio.





The Director supports and promotes patient-centred care, patient safety initiatives, staff motivation and support and best practices within the Program to achieve outcomes identified in the Northern Health Strategic Plan and by other agreements including the Northern Partnership Accord Memorandums and Letters of Understanding with self-governing Nations, and other guiding documents and groups. The Director establishes the operational framework and infrastructure for program delivery and planning and allocates and manages all physical, human and financial resources, anticipating future changes that will affect service delivery. In collaboration with other members of the Indigenous Health leadership team, the Director, Indigenous Health Service Transformation is a connector between Northern Health and the Indigenous people and communities that it serves to foster productive and respectful relations.

In addition, the Director provides portfolio leadership for Indigenous Health internal service transformation, including Indigenous recruitment and retention, communications, strategic projects, and enabling functions that strengthen planning, reporting, and service improvement. The Director also serves as a senior leader and partnership liaison for Indigenous Health within major capital projects and redevelopment initiatives (e.g., the Alliance model UHNBC Acute Care Tower), supporting project governance and teams to embed culturally safe engagement, Indigenous relations planning, Indigenous procurement and workforce opportunities, and transition-to-operations readiness in alignment with Northern Health commitments. The salary range for this position is $118,923 (min) to $148,653 (midpoint) to $170,951 (max) per annum, based on 1.0 FTE.
