About the job Medical Office Assistant lead/manager
We are lookingfor an organized, experienced Medical office lead/manager to join ourbusy medical clinic on a full-time basis. This is a great opportunityto work and learn all aspects of family practice.
We are located in downtown Vancouver close toStanley Park. Our physicians practice all aspects of family medicineand offer a comprehensive list of services.
Theideal candidate is someone who is self-driven and excited to developleadership skills.
General Skills and Abilities
A minimum of 2 years of medical office assistanceexperience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with EMR (preferably experienced withAccuro)
Strong knowledge of medical terminology,conditions, and health care system
Experience with financial aspects of OfficeManagement including accounts receivables and payables
Strong team player who is looking for a long-termwork relationship
Ability to multitask, prioritize and take the initiative in a fast-paced workplace
Clinical Skills and Abilities
Operate and apply the manual and automatic bloodpressure monitor
Prepare patients and set up exam rooms forcomplete physicals, including pap setup
Prep pediatric patients for childhoodexaminations, including routine vaccination
Accurately measure patient height and weights(including infants)
Operate the autoclave
Perform and record results for various lab testsdone at the clinic such as urinalysis
Duties
Lead the front desk team in coordinating patientcare checking in, prepping, escorting to exam rooms, andpreparing exam or treatment rooms for the next patient
Answers inquiries by phone and in person in ahelpful, respectful, and efficient manner
Maintains appointment schedule and managesrecalls
Maintains electronic medical records, includingthe patient chart
Ensures exam rooms are stocked appropriately andensures that they are ready for the next patient
Cleans and sterilizes materials and instruments
Performs patient prep procedures and documentsfindings on the patient record
Performs billing procedures for multiple payers(MSP, ICBC, WCB, etc.) and applies and collects non-insured feeswhere applicable
Orders and receives kitchen, office, and medicalsupplies
Performs all other related clinical,administrative tasks, or special tasks as required
Full-time, permanent job with a competitive hourlyrate
Monday to Friday work schedule (no weekends,evening, and stats)
Great leadership experience, working alongside veryfriendly physicians and patients
