Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Behavior Specialist to support students with behavioral, emotional, and developmental needs. The role focuses on developing and implementing evidence-based behavior intervention strategies to promote positive learning outcomes and inclusive classroom environments.
Key Responsibilities
Assess student behavior and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
Implement and monitor Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies
Collaborate with special education teachers, counselors, and school administrators
Support students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, and emotional/behavioral challenges
Provide direct behavioral support in classroom and one-on-one settings
Track, analyze, and report student progress using data-driven methods
Train and coach teachers and support staff on behavior management techniques
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to individualized goals
Ensure compliance with special education policies and ethical standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong knowledge of special education behavior management strategies
Experience with ABA techniques , positive behavior supports, and classroom interventions
Ability to conduct behavioral assessments and data analysis
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Patience, empathy, and strong problem-solving abilities
Education & Experience
Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education, Psychology, Behavioral Science, or related field
Experience working with children with special needs in educational or clinical settings
Certification such as RBT, BCaBA, BCBA , or equivalent is a plus
