Woodlands North Inc. is currently seeking an experienced individual to support a GIS and Natural Resource Management position at a specialist level while contributing to our ongoing success. This full-time position is based in our Edmonton office.

Po sition Responsibilities
Collecting, organizing, and managing spatial data related to environmental projects. This involves acquiring data from various sources, such as satellite imagery, GPS surveys, and field data collection, and ensuring data integrity and accuracy.

Spatial Analysis, conducting proximity analyses, and generating spatial statistics to support decision-making processes.

Integrating geospatial data from various sources and formats, including remote sensing data, aerial imagery, LiDAR data, and survey data, to create comprehensive environmental datasets.





Providing support for field data collection activities; QA/QC on data received.

Developing and implementing spatial models and workflows to simulate and predict environmental processes. This may involve using GIS tools to model factors such as hydrological processes, species distribution, habitat suitability, and land-use changes, to support environmental planning and decision-making.

Position Requirements and Qualifications
University Degree or technical diploma is required in Environmental, Earth Science, Forestry, Biology, Engineering, Geomatics or Surveying.

Professional registration or eligibility in one of Alberta’s Professional Regulatory Organizations.

Work experience in forestry, wildlife, fishery, agriculture, land-use planning or related field.

Demonstrated knowledge of GIS and remote sensing using ESRI and open source. This includes the ability to acquire, manage and analyze geospatial data; effectively communicating.

Proven experience with LiDAR data, las files, point cloud manipulation, classifications and modelling.
