Overview Experienced Traditional Timber Framer (Mortise & Tenon) – Full-time, Permanent
Shop Location: Benalto, AB (projects across AB/BC/SK). Candidates must live within driving distance of Benalto.

Salary: $27.00–$38.00 per hour (depending on experience)
What you’ll do Read shop drawings and perform precise layout (square-rule and scribe-rule).
Cut, fit, and finish mortises, tenons, housings, braces, scarf joints, and draw-bored pegs.
Perform pre-fit, staging, tagging, and install hardware/fasteners.
Site raising/installation with rigging and crane coordination; set posts, trusses, and frames safely.
Contribute to surface prep and finishing, repair touch-ups, and quality control.
Maintain tools and keep a clean and safe work area.
Operate tools/equipment such as chain mortiser, beam saw (16-5/16"), circular & track saws, band saw, routers, drill press, chisels, slicks,



mallets, layout squares, lasers, telehandler/forklift.
Qualifications 3+ years of traditional timber framing (not just general carpentry).
Proven mortise & tenon skillset.
Ability to read drawings, convert dimensions, and hit tight tolerances.
Physically fit: able to lift 50–80 lb, work at height, indoor/outdoor, all seasons.
Solid safety habits; valid driver’s license.
Eligible to work in Canada; reliable attendance and teamwork.
