Mechanical Engineering Designer / 3D CAD Drafting Specialist Voltari Marine Electric is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Designer / 3D CAD Drafting Specialist to support the design, development, and documentation of mechanical components and assemblies. The ideal candidate will create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation while collaborating with engineers and cross‑functional teams to ensure designs meet functional, manufacturing, and quality requirements. Job Responsibilities Create and modify 3D models and assemblies using CAD software. Produce detailed 2D engineering drawings including dimensions, tolerances, and annotations. Develop manufacturing drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical documentation. Collaborate with mechanical engineers to refine product designs and resolve design issues. Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety requirements, and company guidelines. Support prototype development, testing, and design improvements.



Update and maintain CAD models and documentation in PDM/PLM systems. Perform design revisions and engineering change requests (ECR/ECO). Assist in preparing technical layouts, assembly instructions, and installation drawings. Communicate with manufacturing, suppliers, and quality teams to ensure design feasibility. Primary Requirements Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field. 5-10+ years of experience in mechanical design and CAD drafting. Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software, such as: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, Siemens NX. Ability to create detailed technical drawings and assemblies. Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Understanding of mechanical components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
