English-to-French Translator – Seeking an experienced English-to-French translator for a senior-level, 1-year contract role in the insurance industry. Translate diverse content in a fast-paced, bilingual corporate setting. Remote work flexibility with occasional in-office presence. P&C; insurance knowledge is a strong asset.

Incorporated Business Rate: $46-48 per hour.

Responsibilities

Translate a wide range of documents related to property and casualty (P&C;) insurance, including technical manuals, training materials, guidelines, job aids, newsletters, and software interfaces.

Act as a linguistic resource, providing guidance and support to internal clients and fellow translators on a variety of topics.

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure translations are accurate, clear, and aligned with business needs.

Maintain and update translation memories and terminology databases.

Manage assignments using the company’s translation project management system.

Contribute to the improvement of linguistic tools and internal translation processes.

Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Linguistic Services project manager.

What you will need to succeed

Degree or diploma in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field.

Certification or membership with a recognized professional association (e.g., OTTIAQ, ATIO) is an asset.

5+ years of professional translation experience,



including in a structured corporate environment.

Solid knowledge of the P&C; insurance or broader financial services industry (strong asset).

Bilingual to accurately translate English source content into French and to collaborate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders across both language groups.

Excellent writing, grammar, and editing skills in both French and English.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Computer proficiency including the Microsoft Office suite, .xliff files, and experience with AI tools and e-learning platforms such as Elucidat and Articulate.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced workplace.

High attention to detail, autonomy, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive mindset.
