Lake Country Co-op – Assistant Team Leader (Food Store – Marcelin, Saskatchewan)
Lake Country Co-op invites applications for the position of full‑time Assistant Team Leader onsite at our Food Store location in Marcelin, Saskatchewan. The role supervises Team Members, maintains inventory, and champions Asset Protection and Safety Management at the Marcelin Food Store, contributing to annual sales of approximately 3 million.

What You Will Do

Demonstrate Lake Country Co-op’s vision, mission, and safety principles to make a difference in members’ lives with a strong customer‑focused approach.

Provide an exceptional customer experience at all touch points through various communication channels.

Assist in building and leading a high‑performance team that delivers on budgeted targets by maximizing operational efficiency, providing quality service, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Supervise and motivate team members to meet productivity and customer service goals.

Ensure the department displays, stocks, and rotates merchandise as per company policy and standards, focusing on maintaining image and brand standards.

Ensure inventories are managed and protected in compliance with management standards and practices to maintain high levels of accuracy and minimal loss.

Provide superior leadership to team members through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and feedback.

Adhere to Lake Country Co-op policies such as sale of age‑restricted items and all government regulations relating to tobacco, liquor, and lottery.

Oversee the completion of daily reports,



reconciliations, and purchases.

Champion the Asset Protection and Safety Management systems, policies, and procedures.

Perform minor repairs to assets as required.

Perform all other duties as required.

Who You Are

High‑school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience in retail grocery operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.

Experience with inventory management, merchandising, and team supervision.

Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast‑paced setting.

Proficiency in basic math and comfortable using point‑of‑sale (POS) systems and store‑management software.

Knowledge of retail sales strategies, inventory control, and loss‑prevention practices.

Strong oral and written communication skills and effective use of multiple communication channels.

Willingness and ability to obtain a Serve It Right certification.

Must be 19 years of age or older.

Available to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.

Valid driver’s licence (class 5 minimum).

Physical capability to stand for the entire shift and lift 25–50 lbs.
