Overview
The Media Buyer negotiates with media vendors to secure the most cost‑efficient and effective delivery of planned broadcast objectives; balancing price with quality factors. The negotiation reflects the strategy and brand requirements of approved campaigns in TV, Radio and OLV within a team environment. This role requires a candidate who is analytical, math proficient and well organized with great attention to detail, and who is well informed of the TV, radio and OLV landscape (programming, trends, formats, ownership) and research.
Responsibilities
Negotiate approved campaign executions – TV (including linear optimised), Radio & OLV with minimal assistance from senior leads within the immediate team.
Ensure negotiated campaign executions deliver against any broadcast pricing commitments.
Negotiate with media vendors regarding tactical aspects of the media buy to achieve campaign objectives and/or fulfill client requests as needed.
Manage contracts/bookings/insertions and any resulting revisions with media vendors.
Maintain campaign data (reviewing make‑goods/pre‑emptions) and update contracts for all broadcast/OLV media buys.
Actualise media spending by campaign.
Assist with financials – clear TV /radio discrepancies within 45‑90 days as required.
Train and develop media assistants and their necessary skill set.
Prepare/customise client‑facing reports in PowerPoint & Excel as needed.
Use media related systems (DDS/Mediaocean, Radius, Lens, nLogic, Prisma).
Participate in MMM reporting as required.
Work alongside Supervisor and Manager in populating audit reporting as required.
Provide broadcast pre/post campaign reporting and help produce client‑facing documents each season.
Develop relationships with other internal Investment teams and with Strategy and Finance teams.
Assist in production of POVs for clients as necessary.
Collaborate with Investment Directors when producing agency‑facing documents/POVs (Centre of Excellence assignments).
Collaborate with APEX buying teams as needed throughout campaign execution.
Assist Broadcast Traffic team with necessary campaign details (station lists, flight dates).
Assist with new station set‑up as needed.
Set up broadcast campaigns (estimates, goals, etc.).
Qualifications
Minimum of Associate Degree in Media; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Track record of success throughout post‑secondary career and previous employment.
Minimum of 3+ years of media buying experience.
Proficiency with media systems.
Solid analytical & math proficiency skills.
Solid verbal and written communication skills.
Technical proficiency, particularly with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
Ability to work successfully with teams, handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines under pressure.
Detail‑oriented and able to produce accurate work product.

Salary
Transparency matters to us. The salary range for this position is $50k – $55k per year. Actual compensation within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and applicable certifications. This range reflects what we reasonably expect to offer based on current market data.
