As part of our team, you'll contribute to sustaining this safety-first setting, where speaking up and driving positive change are not just encouraged but expected.Reporting to the General Supervisor - Dam Construction, the Project Engineer supports the construction and operations at one of North America's largest hydraulic sand dams. The role focuses on assisting the General Supervisor with dam construction project planning through to project execution, inclusive of procurement and contract management. The Project Engineer will manage dam construction-related projects ranging from $100K to over $1M, support major tailings initiatives, and lead continuous improvement efforts.This role includes significant collaboration with stakeholders across the mine site, including maintenance planning, shutdown coordination, and contractor supervision, while ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance in all activities.Key ResponsibilitiesBe a courageous safety leader, adhering to safety and environmental rules and procedures.Manage the technical and engineering aspects of a project; bridging planningand execution by overseeing timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery.Responsible for procurement, contracts, cost forecasts, and invoices for dam-specific projects and specific operational activities.



Ensure alignment with existing agreements and support negotiations as needed.Ensure quality, safety, and compliance while coordinating teams, stakeholders, and technical tasks from start to finish.Develop, plan, and execute dam construction and tailings-related projects, including cost estimates, schedules, and resource allocation.Lead continuous improvement initiatives and projects, focused on Dust Management and piping activities.Coordinate with maintenance groups for shutdown planning and execution.Improve project delivery continually by applying relevant lessons learned and maintaining detailed recordsDevelop and maintain Dam Construction policies and procedures.Review contractor safety programs to ensure alignment with Teck's standards.Maintain document control and establish consistent project filing standards.Supervise hourly workers, on-site consultants, and contractors as required.Fill in for the General Supervisor, Dam Construction, as required.Work closely with other departments, especially Mill Operations and Maintenance, Site Engineering, Geotechnical, Sustainability, and Projects.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil, Mining, or Mechanical Engineering or related field.Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC). Preference will be given to Professional Engineers registered with EGBC.Minimum 3-5 years of proven Project Management experience.Operational experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a mining, tailings storage facility, and/or heavy civil construction environment would be considered an asset.Working knowledge of Civil 3D, Muck3D, AutoCAD, and/or Vulcan would be considered an asset.Must have a valid driver's license.Why Join Us?At Teck, we offer more than just a job – we provide a pathway to personal and professional enrichment With captivating projects set against stunning backdrops,
