Elevate food service standards as a Senior Cook at Vancouver Island Health Authority. This casual position involves critical menu development and resident engagement in cooking activities.

In this role, reporting to the Clinical Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of food services are managed effectively. This includes menu planning for nutritional needs, teaching cooking skills to residents, and supervising other cooks. Administrative tasks like scheduling and inventory management are key parts of your duties, alongside ensuring compliance with safety standards in working with mental health clients.

Key Responsibilities:
• Create nutritious menus to meet dietary needs
• Guide and supervise junior kitchen staff




• Foster cooking skill development with residents
• Manage food provision inventories and expenditures
• Uphold health and safety regulations in kitchen operations

Requirements:
• Completion of Grade 12 and Cook certification
• Food Secure Level 1 and 2
• CPR and First Aid accredited
• Three years experience in cooking and kitchen management
• Strong interpersonal and organization skills
