Be a part-time planner at the Aboriginal Resource Centre in Burns Lake, BC, dedicated to enhancing Indigenous student experiences. Support student activities, facilitate orientation, and provide clerical assistance.
Under the supervision of the Manager, Indigenous Initiatives and Inclusion, your responsibilities will include cooperative event organization and delivering customer service to Indigenous students. Your role is vital for fostering a welcoming atmosphere that encourages successful transitions into college life.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide reception and clerical support to students
• Organize and implement Indigenous student activities
• Assist with orientation and new student resource preparation
• Maintain supplies and ensure smooth office operations
• Promote respectful communication and positive work atmosphere
Requirements:
• One year of post-secondary education in a related field
• At least one year of experience with Indigenous students
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Understanding of learner-centered approaches
• Proficiency in computer applications, including databases
