Responsibilities

Supervise patients’ exercise routines

Perform other duties related to patient care and comfort

Perform other duties related to personal care

Weigh, lift, turn and position patients

Make beds and maintain patients’ rooms

Bathe, dress and groom patients

Transport patients between care facilities

Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher

Answer call signals to determine patients’ needs

Administer first aid in emergency situations

Qualifications

Credentials: Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses – First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate

Security and safety: Criminal record check, Immunization records, Vulnerable sector check, Tuberculosis test





Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks; combination of sitting, standing, walking; bending, crouching, kneeling

Weight handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)

Personal suitability: Client focus, Dependability, Flexibility, Initiative, Judgement, Organized, Reliability, Team player, Patience

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate (or equivalent experience)

Experience: 1 to less than 7 months

Location: North York, ON

Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged; Own transportation required
