Step into the role of Community Support Worker, where you’ll advocate for individuals in staffed homes to help them achieve independence. Provide essential care while maintaining high standards of safety and health.
As a Community Support Worker, you will engage with clients to promote their well-being and rights in the community. Your role includes development and documentation of Personal Service Plans, and you will work closely with families and health professionals to build strong support networks. Your capacity for collaboration and independent work will enhance the care provided.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advocate for clients’ rights and choices consistently
• Support clients in becoming active community members
• Develop Personal Service Plans collaboratively
• Assist with medication administration and daily living
• Foster relationships with families and local professionals
Requirements:
• Grade 12 education and Community Support Worker Diploma or alternate
• Two years in health care or community social services
• Current First Aid/CPR and Food Secure certifications
• Effective communication skills with all stakeholders
• Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence and clear criminal record
