Position Overview
A Event Audio Visual Technician is responsible for the set up and operation of basic / small‑scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director or Director, Event Technology.

Key Job Responsibilities

Ensure a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment.

Strive to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers.

Maintain a positive relationship with all clients through effective communication.

Meet with guests on site to ensure their needs are met and the equipment setup is working properly.

Monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day.

Understand and foster the hotel/client relationship.

Understand technical aspects, troubleshoot, and solve equipment and software issues.

Handle equipment challenges and changes in a timely and qualified manner.

Follow company processes, complete systems entry and paperwork accurately.

Use equipment sheets to determine scheduled equipment for set up and strike; interact with staff and vendors.

Increase revenue by utilizing floor up‑selling techniques.

Work with clients to finalize invoices.

Complete order entries in Navigator, as needed.

Job Qualifications

High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.

Achieve Technical Level 3 Certification per Encore Technical Skillset Matrix within 180 days.

1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.

1 year of audio‑visual experience or equivalent in educational environment preferred.

Valid driver’s license required for team members who may operate company vehicles.

Additional DOT requirement may need to be met if applicable.

Hourly Pay Range: $19.00 - $27.81.

The compensation offered for this role is determined based on the qualifications outlined in the job posting for the specified location. Final compensation is based on factors including location, travel, relevant work experience, or particular skills and expertise. Some positions may be eligible for other compensation such as overtime, bonuses or incentives.

Work Environment
Hotel: Work is performed in a hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and/or dust. The working conditions vary from moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Team members use high‑end audio‑visual equipment and electrical components and may be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders. May work in multiple hotel locations, irregular hours, on‑call status including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Must adhere to appearance guidelines defined by ENCORE.

Warehouse: Work is performed at event venues as well as in a warehouse environment. Similar exposures and requirements apply. May involve irregular hours and on‑call status.
