Qualifications

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 3 to less than 5 years in construction

Work setting: Construction, various locations; relocation costs covered by employer; willing to relocate

Transportation/travel: Willing to travel

Personal suitability: Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, reliability, team player, punctuality

Eligibility: a permanent resident of Canada or a temporary resident of Canada with a valid work permit

Responsibilities

Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs

Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements





Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials

Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware

Supervise other workers, apprentices, and bench workers

Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements

Bending, crouching, kneeling

Handling heavy loads

Physically demanding
