Terms and Conditions Permanent, full-time (40 hours/week). Weekends and overtime may be required.
Work Setting & Environment Fruit and vegetable manufacturing and processing plant. Cold/refrigerated, wet/damp, noisy.

Job Requirements Languages: English
Education: High school or equivalent
Experience: 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Area of specialization: Material handling equipment, hydraulics, electronics, electrical and mechanical servicing and repair
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities Handling heavy loads (up to 45 kg / 100 lbs)
Physically demanding; standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling
Rapid-paced environment with repetitive tasks
Attention to detail; able to hear warning signals

Duties Maintain and perform daily preventive maintenance on material handling equipment (including forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.)
Maintain battery room and chargers,



including charging and changing batteries for material handling equipment
Repair or replace defective parts using hand and power tools
Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble
Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, hand and power tools
Maintain equipment rooms in a neat and orderly fashion
Maintain appropriate levels of material handling equipment maintenance supplies
Follow through and complete all work orders
Design, implement, and review daily operator's checklist procedures
Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local guidelines, including OHS
Perform other related duties as required
