Assistant Community Manager (6-month contract) The Assistant Community Manager will work closely with the Community Manager to ensure efficient property management, maintain tenant satisfaction, and handle administrative tasks.
Responsibilities Assist the Community Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations of the property.
Conduct regular property inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
Coordinate maintenance requests and follow up to ensure timely completion of repairs.
Assist in organizing preventive maintenance schedules.
Serve as a point of contact for tenants, responding to inquiries and providing exceptional customer service.
Assist with lease administration, including processing current leases, renewals and terminations.
Maintain positive tenant relations by addressing issues promptly and professionally.
Enforce lease agreements, property rules and regulations.
Help with move‑in/move‑out processes, inspections and preparing rental units for new tenants.
Promote a positive community atmosphere by addressing tenant concerns and fostering relationships.
Assist in marketing available rental units, updating listings, coordinating showings and responding to prospective tenant inquiries.
Assist with tenant screening: processing applications, conducting background checks and gathering references.
Prepare and review leasing documents for accuracy and compliance.
Maintain accurate records of transactions, maintenance requests and resident interactions.
Perform general administrative duties: answering phones, emails and maintaining tenant files.
Prepare and distribute notices to tenants, including rent reminders,



policy updates and other communications.
Assist with rent collection, ensuring timely payment and following up on overdue payments.
Assist in managing property budgets and ensuring expenditures stay within limits.
Assist in preparing the property for inspections and ensuring compliance with health, safety and building codes.
Help manage evictions and legal notices, ensuring proper procedure is followed.
Assist in managing on‑site staff and vendors, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule and to quality standards.
Provide guidance and support to maintenance staff and leasing agents.
Work occasional evenings, weekends and on‑call duties for urgent matters.
Occasional travel may be required when managing multiple properties.
Experience & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in real estate, business or a related field is a plus.
1–3 years of experience in property management or a customer service role.
Knowledge of property management software (e.g., Yardi preferred).
Robust communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organization and time‑management abilities; able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to handle tenant concerns and complaints professionally and calmly.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and budgeting.
Problem‑solving skills and ability to resolve issues efficiently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and property management software.
Ability to handle emergency situations effectively and professionally.
Familiarity with local tenancy laws and regulations.
