Job Summary
Come work as a Carpenter with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!

Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Carpenter to join the Plant Maintenance team at Vancouver General Hospital.

Responsibilities

Perform skilled carpentry work in accordance with applicable building codes and by‑laws in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of building structural elements, fixtures, and furniture using power tools such as table saws, mitre saws, routers, jointers, sanders, and hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, squares, chisels, hand saws, clamps, and planes.

Qualifications
Education & Experience

Grade 10 plus two years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Carpenter recognized by the Province of British Columbia.

Knowledge & Abilities

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Ability to deal with others effectively.

Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.

Ability to organize work.

Ability to operate related equipment.
