Summary
We are seeking an experienced Shipper/Receiver to manage all aspects of domestic and international shipping and receiving operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of transportation regulations, shipping documentation, customs requirements, and carrier management across multiple transportation modes, including courier, LTL, FTL, air freight, and ocean freight .
The successful candidate must hold current TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) and IATA Dangerous Goods certifications and demonstrate the ability to coordinate shipments efficiently while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
What you will be doing
Prepare, package, process, and coordinate domestic and international shipments.
Receive incoming goods, inspect shipments for accuracy and damage, and process receiving documentation.
Arrange and coordinate shipments via:
Courier services (FedEx, UPS, DHL, Purolator, etc.)
Less-Than-Truckload (LTL)
Full Truckload (FTL)
Air Freight
Ocean Freight
Prepare shipping documents including:
Commercial Invoices
Bills of Lading (BOL)
Packing Lists
Export Documentation
Dangerous Goods Declarations
Certificates of Origin (when required)
Ensure compliance with:
TDG regulations
IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations
Customs and international trade requirements
Carrier-specific shipping requirements
Coordinate customs clearance activities and work with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers.
Track shipments and proactively resolve transportation issues and delays.
Maintain accurate inventory and shipping records within ERP or inventory management systems.
Load and unload shipments safely using material handling equipment as required.
Conduct cycle counts and assist with inventory control activities.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shipping and receiving area.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to logistics and warehouse operations.
What you bring to the table
Current IATA Dangerous Goods Certification (required).
Current TDG Certification (required).
Minimum 3 years of shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing, laboratory, industrial, or logistics environment.
Demonstrated experience with both domestic and international shipping .
Strong knowledge of:
Courier shipping
LTL and FTL freight
Air freight logistics
Ocean freight logistics
Import/export documentation
Customs procedures and international trade compliance
Experience preparing Dangerous Goods documentation and shipments.
Proficiency with shipping software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
Experience shipping regulated products, chemicals, laboratory samples, or dangerous goods.
Forklift certification.
Experience with customs brokers and freight forwarding companies.
Knowledge of Incoterms and international trade practices.
Experience with inventory management systems.
