Health Care Aide
Adaptacare Personal Care Homes Inc invites three Health Care Aides to provide compassionate care for vulnerable seniors and disabled residents in a congregate supportive facility. The role is full‑time, 32 hours per week, on a 12‑month term/contract with a strong possibility of continuing full‑time employment pending performance review.

Location: 1821 13 St North, Lethbridge, AB T1H 2V4.
Salary: $24.00–$26.00 per hour (to be negotiated).
Start date: 2026‑08‑03.

Responsibilities

Supply and empty bed pans.

Take patients’ blood pressure, temperature and pulse.

Serve meal trays and feed patients.

Weigh, lift, turn and position patients.

Make beds and maintain patients’ rooms.

Supervise patients’ exercise routines.

Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations and enemas.

Maintain inventory of supplies.

Bathe, dress and groom patients.

Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher.

Answer call signals to determine patients’ needs.

Collect specimens.

Administer first aid in emergency situations.

Qualifications

Hold an active registration with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta as a Health Care Aide.

Hold a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate, First Aid Certificate,



CPR Certificate and Health Care Aide Certificate.

Have recent five‑year or more experience caring for seniors in a congregate facility setting.

Hold a college, CEGEP or other non‑university certificate or diploma of 3 months to less than 1 year.

Be able to pass a basic security clearance, criminal record check, adult abuse registry check and provide immunization records.

Physical Requirements

Fast‑paced environment and work under pressure.

Repetitive tasks and physically demanding duties.

Manual dexterity, attention to detail, ability to distinguish colours, sound discrimination.

Prolonged standing, walking, bending, crouching and kneeling.

Weight handling up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
