Support early childhood education with the Neskonlith Indian Band as an Early Childhood Educator. This full-time role, active from September 2024 to June 2025, promotes a culturally resonant and nurturing environment in Salmon Arm, BC.
Under the guidance of the Education Director and Daycare Manager, you will provide quality supervision and development for children. Your responsibilities include planning culturally relevant activities that enhance learning, supporting children’s daily needs, and fostering a sense of community among families. The position emphasizes respect for First Nations culture while ensuring children’s personal health and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and deliver activities promoting Shuswap culture
• Supervise daily routines,
including diapering and meals
• Implement health and safety standards in care
• Communicate key information to parents
• Assist in fundraising and community involvement efforts
Requirements:
• Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
• Early Childhood Education Certificate essential
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Familiarity with First Nations traditions is preferred
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
