Job Overview
ATCO Frontec is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Camp Services team at the Artemis Blackwater Mine in central British Columbia, approximately 160 km southwest of Prince George and 450 km northeast of Vancouver. The role involves maintaining mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for a 24/7 camp operation.
Compensation
Wage range: $35–42 per hour (rates may change). Rotation schedule: 14 days on, 14 days off.
Responsibilities
Perform routine corrective and preventive maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting and repairing plumbing systems such as leaking faucets and blocked toilets.
Carry out building repairs including drywall, painting, flooring, minor carpentry and ceiling tiles and grid system.
Handle minor HVAC troubleshooting and repairs including filter replacement, cleaning and repairs to ducting, registers and dampers.
Inspect site and mechanical equipment to ensure proper operation and report any problems.
Monitor temperature and humidity levels daily and report any inconsistencies to management.
Complete all maintenance service requests as assigned.
Perform manual duties to clean and maintain exterior environments.
Respond quickly and thoroughly to changes in client requirements and expectations.
Ensure all operations meet client‑specific regulations, federal and provincial health & safety legislation and ATCO corporate policies.
Navigate the CMMS system for work order management and task reporting.
Follow Health and Safety Policies and Safe Work practices.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in a similar position and environment.
Strong knowledge of safe work practices and procedures in maintenance operations.
Highly experienced with time management in a 24/7 operation with a focus on client satisfaction.
Ability to work safely with a wide variety of hand and power tools and materials.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Outlook.
Class 5 license and clean driver’s abstract.
Professional oral and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and multitask while working well under pressure.
Effective problem solver.
