Hastings House Country House Hotel on Salt Spring Island is looking for an experienced, professional, and personable Fine Dining Evening Server to join our Food & Beverage team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced restaurant server, fine dining server, or hospitality professional who is passionate about food, wine, exceptional service, and creating memorable guest experiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide warm, attentive, and professional fine dining service from arrival through departure.
- Welcome guests and create a personalized and memorable dining experience.
- Present seasonal menus and confidently explain ingredients, preparation methods, and daily features.
- Recommend wines, cocktails, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages to complement meals.
- Provide polished table service following fine dining standards.
- Maintain strong knowledge of food, wine, beverages, allergens, and dietary accommodations.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen, bartenders, wine team, and support staff to ensure smooth service.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond professionally to requests and concerns.
- Maintain dining areas to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Accurately enter orders and process payments using the POS system.
- Work efficiently as part of a professional and collaborative hospitality team.
- Uphold the service standards and hospitality philosophy of Hastings House and Relais & Châteaux.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Minimum 2 years of experience as a restaurant server, fine dining server, or hospitality professional.
- Previous experience in fine dining, a boutique hotel, luxury resort, or upscale restaurant is an asset.




- Strong knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, and beverages.
- Wine education such as WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers, ISG, or equivalent is an asset.
- Valid Serving It Right certification is required.
- Excellent communication and guest service skills.
- Professional appearance, positive attitude, and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm and polished in a busy service environment.
- Solid teamwork and communication skills.
- Genuine passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences.
- Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

POSITION DETAILS

- Full-time or part-time seasonal position
- Seasonal contract ending November 2, 2026
- 8-hour evening shifts
- Evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
