Distribution Administrator
Location: Toronto, ON / Montreal, QC. Contract: Full‑Time. Compensation: $45,000–$50,000. Work model: Hybrid.
About the Role
The Distribution Administrator supports the Royalty Operations and Services teams by conducting research, data entry, and validation activities to ensure accurate royalty distributions.
Key Responsibilities
Manage SOCAN catalog of musical works and audio‑visual cue sheets, including adding and updating entries.
Research musical works or cue sheets and associated shareholders.
Resolve conflicting claims by coordinating with Membership.
Review and update agreements that direct royalty collection.
Merge duplicate works into a single payable entry.
Match music‑usage reports from radio, TV, and streaming services to the SOCAN catalog.
Review potential match results and research to confirm validity.
Execute matches based on Unidentified Performances List for member review online.
Resolve member queries and activities (domestic & international).
Research queries regarding catalog changes, agreements, and missing royalties.
Provide updates to Membership on investigations.
Pursue member‑claimed music use with foreign societies.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Computer literacy, Microsoft Office Suite with Excel.
Fluency in English; French language skills are a strong asset.
Music‑industry knowledge is an asset.
Excellent research skills.
Strong time‑management skills to meet deadlines.
Detail‑oriented and thorough.
Solid analytical problem‑solving abilities.
Strong aptitude for numbers.
Self‑starter, results‑oriented, efficient and proactive.
