Registered Veterinary Technologist, Team Lead
Department: Emergency
Location: Victoria, BC
Salary: $36.00 to $42.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Relocation allowance and signing/retention bonuses available.
Role Overview
This role combines leadership with hands‑on emergency services, leading a team of Veterinary Technologists while working closely with the RVT‑led leadership team, Medical Director, and other team leads. It offers a mix of clinical emergency work and administrative duties, with daytime‑focused scheduling and one on‑call shift per four weeks.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Registered Veterinary Technologist, RVT or eligible to register.
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Veterinary Technologists.
Orient and train new team members, conduct check‑ins, and assist with performance management.
Create schedules, monitor workflow, and ensure smooth operations.
Maintain high level of patient care and client service.
Proactively identify and address concerns or conflicts.
Attend regular leadership meetings to discuss challenges, solutions, and clinic initiatives.
Perform clinical procedures: venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, anesthesia monitoring, and patient assessment.
Continuously enhance technical skills.
Work effectively in a steady and often fast‑paced environment.
Exhibit exceptional interpersonal skills with colleagues and pet parents.
Keep accurate patient records.
Strong problem‑solving abilities.
