Choose Life Ministry is a Christian faith-based community living program that supports women aged 18 and older as they take the next step on their path to healing. The ministry provides a structured, supportive environment for individuals facing life-controlling issues such as substance use, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, self-harm, and trauma-related challenges. The program emphasizes personal growth, accountability, and holistic well-being. Team members work within a values-based setting that integrates practical support with faith-informed care, while respecting the dignity and worth of each participant.

Role Description
The Direct Support Level 1 role is a full-time, on-site position located in Gainsborough, SK. This team member provides day-to-day support to residents by assisting with daily routines, promoting healthy life skills, and encouraging participation in program activities. Responsibilities include monitoring resident well-being, offering emotional support, documenting observations, and promptly communicating any concerns to leadership. The role also involves maintaining a safe and orderly living environment, supporting group activities and appointments, and collaborating with other staff to ensure consistent, person-centered care. The Direct Support Level 1 works within the ministry’s Christian faith-based framework while upholding a respectful, non-discriminatory approach to all residents.

Work in alignment with the mission, vision, and core values of Choose Life Ministry

Supervise residents daily, ensuring their safety, well-being,



and adherence to program guidelines

Maintain appropriate boundaries, enforce rules, and apply discipline when necessary

Support and mentor residents in their spiritual, emotional, and personal development

Communicate effectively with residents and staff to ensure consistent and coordinated care

Respond appropriately to resident and facility emergencies

Maintain a working knowledge of program procedures and standards as outlined in the Resident Handbook

Demonstrate sound judgment, flexibility, and problem-solving in a agile environment

General Duties

Attend and participate in staff meetings

Maintain required communication tools (e.g., cell phone, keys) during shifts

Maintain accurate documentation, including resident progress notes, daily logs, and incident reports

Administer and record medications in accordance with established policies and procedures

Support the daily operations of the home, including transportation, cleanliness, and resident routines

Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications

Demonstrates strong Christian character and a commitment to biblical principles





Basic biblical knowledge and willingness to support faith-based programming

Ability to lead effectively in a demanding, client-focused ministry environment

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to work collaboratively with a positive team attitude

Self‑motivated with the ability to take initiative

Strong organizational and time management skills

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends

Demonstrates professionalism, maturity, and responsible behavior

Proficient in communication via phone, text, email, and in person

Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including extended periods of standing and sitting

Considered Assets

Minimum of 1–3 years of relevant experience in a related field

First Aid, ASIST, Non‑Violent Intervention, or Crisis Prevention certifications

Completion of the Freedom Session discipleship course (or willingness to complete) as part of the ministry program

Conditions of Employment

Must currently be a Canadian Resident

If applying as a professional, must currently be licensed in Saskatchewan and able to practice

Salary & Benefits

Salary and benefits are negotiable and will be determined based on qualifications and experience ranging between $20 and $25 per hour.

Group benefits — 50% paid
