Canada Post is currently seeking an on-call Post Office Assistant (Term) who will use a customer-focused approach when providing counter services to customers in the Mont-Louis region and surrounding communities, including Marsoui, Mont St-Pierre, Gros-Morne, Murdochville, and La Martre.
Note: The ideal candidate should reside in the community. Applicants outside the community in which the Post Office is located may be considered as needed.
Responsibilities Sell postal products and services to the business community and public
Sort, distribute, and process mail into appropriate classifications
Provide customers with information and forms
Address delivery and service difficulties to resolve problems thoroughly and quickly
Handle cash transactions accurately as part of retail counter operations
Lift and move mail containers of up to 50 lb and stand for extended periods
Qualifications High school or provincial equivalency and/or experience in business administration
Training and/or experience interacting with the public in a retail and/or service workplace, including sales and cash transactions




Understanding of general or post office accounting systems
Physically fit to lift mail containers of up to 50 lb, push or pull boxes, sort mail, and stand for extended periods
Flexibility to be available for temporary, on-call work
French language proficiency is essential
Other Information This job posting will be used to fill many Post Office Assistant - Term positions for the region of Mont-Louis and its surroundings, including the following Post Offices: Marsoui, Mont St-Pierre, Mont-Louis, Gros-Morne, Murdochville, and La Martre.
