Ledcor is hiring Heavy Equipment Mechanics for upcoming major construction projects across Canada. We are seeking skilled tradespersons who are passionate about equipment reliability, safety, and quality workmanship.
You will work alongside knowledgeable supervisors and experienced crews who prioritize proper planning, clear communication, and a strong safety culture—so everyone goes home safe at the end of the day.
Essential Responsibilities
Safe & cost-effective maintenance of heavy mobile equipment
Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, haul trucks, and support equipment
Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with manufacturer and site requirements
Conduct pre‑trip/walk‑around safety inspections and complete daily field level hazard assessments
Complete maintenance reporting and other documentation as required
Collaborate and communicate effectively and professionally with other team members
Be a leader in both safety and production for the team by ensuring compliance with all company, client, and legislated safety policies and procedures
Requirements
3+ years previous experience preferred
Journeyperson certification from a recognized training authority
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision
Must successfully complete pre‑access drug and alcohol testing
Must have a valid driver’s license and clear 3‑year driver abstract
Experience with various equipment such as CAT, Komatsu, John Deere and Hitachi
Robust commitment to safety and safe work practices
Ability to work rotations, shifts, and overtime
Work Conditions
Travel allowances provided across Canada
Living‑out allowance or camp available for eligible candidates
Various shift rotations available
Extended health benefits provided by CLAC
Compensation
$30.84 – $51.40 per hour. This range is determined by trade certification, apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location. Remote or site‑based positions may be eligible for additional incentives, including travel and accommodation allowances.
