Job Summary
We are recruiting for a Walkie Forklift Operator for our Mississauga-based client. This is a long-term, ongoing position. Drivers with exceptional work ethic, attendance, and performance may be offered a hired-on opportunity with our client.
Responsibilities
Operate Walkie/Walkie Rider forklift based on daily and weekly operational requirements; work in narrow aisle warehouse environments.
Perform general labor duties such as hand bombing, moving products, loading and unloading.
Assist with unloading Purolator trailers as they are unloaded, palletize returns, and wrap pallets with a pallet wrapper.
Act as a general labor (GL) support when driving is not required; use a motorized hand truck to assist with GL tasks.
Split daily tasks approximately 50% forklift operation and 50% general assistance.
Order picking and shipping/receiving using WMS and Walkie, build and stage shipments using a crown pump truck, stock put-away, and perform inventory maintenance/rotation.
Load and unload trailers/containers as required; perform general warehouse duties as assigned.
Communicate with supervisors and operators to handle material and report problems/concerns; document work performed accurately.
Assist in inventory audits and stack pallets in designated areas; maintain clean work areas and dispose of scrap materials appropriately.
Sign applicable driver documentation and participate in safety checks and tests as required.
Requirements
Must have a valid Forklift license to operate a Walkie.
Must have 1 year of valid experience operating a Walkie.
Ability to pass the background check.
Comfortable working in a quick-paced, productivity-focused environment.
Ability to bend, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in any given department.
Qualifications
Updated resume and relevant training certificates are required.
Valid photo ID, SIN, and legal permit to work is required.
Candidates will be set up for an interview with Armor; qualified candidates will be presented to the client for the forklift test.
Initial safe forklift operator test at the client site may be required; police clearance check may be requested.
