Salary
The salary range for this position is CAD $32.84-44.96 per hour.
Job Summary
We are hiring a Relief Full Time Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Laurel Place Hospice in Surrey, B.C. This position is available until approximately December 2027 or until the return of the incumbent.

Detailed Overview
Under the direction of the Manager, Clinical Operations or designated staff and as a member of a multidisciplinary team, performs assessments, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care. The LPN operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and in accordance with agency operating policies, standards, and unit‑specific protocols.
Responsibilities
Assesses patient/resident/family’s strengths and limitations including physiological, psychological, socio‑cultural, and spiritual needs.
Provides a supportive environment for patient/resident/family and promotes their involvement in health‑care decisions.
Contributes to the development and ongoing changes of the individualized plan of care, including attending multidisciplinary care‑planning meetings and family conferences.
Provides nursing care according to identified policies and procedures, technology, and FHA standards and evaluates outcomes.
Performs admissions, discharges, and transfers of patients/residents.
Documents and updates all relevant care and procedure information to ensure safety and comfort.
Operates and maintains equipment related to patient/resident care such as bathtubs, scales, and mechanical lifts.
Assists in maintaining a secure and clean environment for patients/residents and staff.
Assists in the orientation of new staff, students, and other members of the Health Care Team.
Participates in continuous quality improvement and program evaluation activities, education sessions, team conferences, meetings, and committees.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Graduate of a recognized practical nursing program or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the BCCNM.
Skills and Abilities
Effective verbal and written communication.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Organizes work and implements a plan of care.
Knowledge of full scope of practice required by the BCCNM, including administering medications.
Ability to operate related equipment.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
