In this junior drafting support role, you’ll contribute to the development of infrastructure that supports growing communities while building your technical skills alongside experienced engineers and designers.
Responsibilities
Support the preparation of civil engineering drawings for municipal infrastructure projects including roads, drainage, and utilities
Assist in developing AutoCAD and Civil 3D models and drawings based on engineering direction
Contribute to the accuracy and quality of design deliverables through careful drafting and revisions
Update drawing packages and maintain organized project documentation throughout the design process
Collaborate with engineers and designers to incorporate feedback and refine designs
Support quantity take-offs and basic design tasks to aid project delivery
Learn and apply municipal standards, regulations, and best practices in design work
Contribute to a team culture focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field
1–3 years of experience in a drafting or design support role, preferably in municipal infrastructure
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D
Familiarity with basic civil design concepts such as grading, servicing, and roadworks
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high‑quality drawings
Eagerness to learn, grow, and develop technical skills in a supportive team environment
Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Exposure to BC municipal standards or consulting environments is considered an asset
Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $29.50 - $39.10 per hour
MB & ON: $26.90 – $37.10 per hour
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $26.60 - $35.40 per hour
