Job Details
The City of St. Albert is recruiting individuals to join our Recreation & Parks department as Aquatics Fitness Instructors. Reporting to a Recreation Program Coordinator, this position will be responsible for delivering Aquafit Classes to a wide range of clientele. Our team offers aquatic fitness classes during the daytime, evening, and weekends year-round. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, responsive to customer needs and excellent at building relationships.

Hours of Work
Fountain Park

Summer: Monday – Friday, 8 – 9 am and 12 – 1 pm.

Fall: Monday – Friday from 7 – 8 am, 8 – 9 am, 11 – 12 pm, 12 – 1 pm and 8 – 9 pm.

Saturdays from 8 – 9 am.

Servus Place

Fall: Monday – Friday from 7:30 – 8:15 am and 8:30 – 9:30 am.

Summer: Monday – Friday from 8 – 8:45 am and 9 – 10 am.

Compensation

The wage ranges from $34.00 to $46.00 per hour based on qualifications and experience.

Requirements and Qualifications

Aquatic Fitness Leadership Certification (Fitness Alberta or other).

Current Standard First Aid Certification.

Preference will be given to those with prior instruction experience.

Conditions of Employment

The successful candidate will be required to provide proof of educational and professional credentials.

The successful applicant will be required to obtain a transparent vulnerable sector police information check.

Presence of charges or convictions does not automatically preclude an individual from being considered for employment. All findings will be reviewed and assessed in relation to the responsibilities and requirements of the position.
