Empower youth with YouthLink in a part-time Shelter Youth Worker role. Deliver compassionate care and supervision while actively promoting equity and diversity within a supportive shelter environment.
In this permanent position, you will work 14 hours weekly, focused on supporting youth through various challenges. You'll model strength-based practices while providing guidance on personal development and daily routines. A deep understanding of trauma-informed care is essential in impacting the lives of residents positively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Welcome residents and manage the intake process
• Supervise daily activities and support resident needs
• Help youth create and achieve their action plans
• Respond effectively to crisis situations
• Ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards
Requirements:
• Diploma in Child and Youth Work or Social Services
• One year of relevant experience
• Certifications in First Aid/CPR and CPI/SMG are assets
• Availability on weekends (Saturday/Sunday)
• Ability to work in a pet-friendly setting
