Summary
Under supervision, our golf course labourers perform a variety of recurring light and heavy manual work in connection with the maintenance, mowing fairways and greens, hole changes, upkeep and repair of the golf course, and other general duties. Workers are to perform many assignments with independence, exhibiting some initiative and judgment in typical work situations. Work frequently involves the operation of motorized vehicles and equipment.
Responsibilities
General course upkeep mowing fairways, greens, pruning trees
Performs other grounds maintenance work such as repairing turf using sod patches, reseeding and setting up protective barriers, planting and pruning trees and shrubs, removing debris, mulching, weeding, cutting up downed trees, etc., using hand and power tools and equipment such as chain saws,
industrial mowers, and tractors with moving attachments
Performs other manual labor, such as loading and unloading trucks, erecting snow fences, cleaning culverts, digging ditches, etc.
Reports defective and damaged equipment and supplies to supervisor for corrective action
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Some knowledge of golf is preferred
Ability to lift 50lbs
Ability to work well, and communicate effectively, within a team workplace
Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and a variety of shifts
