Community Relations & Employment Coordinator (Warehouse Academy)

Job type: Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week, 1‑year contract (possible extension). Salary: $45,300.60 – $53,200.00 annually.
Job Summary
The Goodwill Warehouse Academy is a workforce development initiative designed to provide hands‑on training and employment pathways in warehouse operations. Focused on individuals facing barriers to employment, the Academy combines practical experience with structured learning to build skills in inventory management, logistics, safety, and teamwork.
The Community Relations and Employment Coordinator (CREC) provides individualized case management to adults with disabilities or other barriers who are looking to obtain or maintain employment opportunities in the community. The CREC completes client intake and acts as a case manager for program participants, liaises between employers, participants and their support network, and emphasizes trauma‑informed, strengths‑based, and inclusive practices. The CREC also serves as a Goodwill ambassador within the community, seeking employment partners, job opportunities and other supports for participants.
What you’ll be doing
Completing client intake and onboarding processes to ensure individuals meet eligibility requirements.
Conducting Person‑Centered Plan (PCP) interviews with the individual and their support network to determine employment aspirations, experiences, abilities, skills and potential obstacles.
Monitoring and developing Individual Service Plan (ISP)
documents in collaboration with the individual and their supports and stakeholders.
Planning, facilitating and implementing annual planning meetings and revisions of the individual’s PCP and ISP documentation within required timelines.
Meeting with employers and employment coaches to establish work goals and develop implementation plans.
Working with employers and individuals to ensure adequate support is provided to prevent or resolve workplace issues.
Attending employment and community events to network and build relations with businesses and other agencies.
Creating meaningful partnerships with community and business leaders to develop Goodwill mission.
Providing regular follow‑up on assigned individuals with on‑site visits and phone calls.
Assisting individuals to obtain and utilize necessary technologies and accommodations.
Collaborating with Disability Services to refer individuals to community resources as needed.
Building meaningful partnerships with community and business leaders to grow Goodwill’s mission.
Completing follow‑up on discharged individuals and related reports.
What you bring to the table
Minimum 2 years of post‑secondary education in a related field (Social Services, Psychology).
Minimum 2 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or barriers to employment.
Valid First Aid certificate.
A personal vehicle, a valid class 5 driver’s licence, and a clean driving record.
Familiarity with the Calgary area.
The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
An interest in working with individuals with disabilities.
A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
Ability to deliver exceptional service by going above and beyond for all Goodwill stakeholders.
Demonstrated teamwork and enthusiasm for contributing to Goodwill’s mission and core purpose.
Maintain an open and honest attitude while making ethical decisions.
Recognize the efforts of fellow team members through genuine appreciation.
Contribute to a welcoming and accepting work environment by showing respect at all times.
