About This Role: EQB × Bennington Financial Corp Partnership
This position is being recruited by EQB on behalf of our wholly owned subsidiary, Bennington Financial Corp . Bennington Financial Corp plays a critical role within EQB’s ecosystem, specializing in commercial equipment financing and leasing. It extends EQB’s reach beyond traditional banking into a highly specialized and fast‑growing segment of the financial services landscape.

Report to
Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, the Legal Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing legal and administrative support to the Legal team at Bennington. This position assists in a variety of areas including assistance with the Senior Legal team in diverse litigation activities.
The work
Assists with general administrative tasks within the department as requested
Prepares correspondence to various parties
Assists with steps involved in the litigation process
Manages incoming mail and administers the Legal ticket system
Performs various searches as requested
Performs other clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, collating, and ensuring that all local photocopiers are filled
Other related duties as requested by the immediate supervisor or General Counsel
The successful candidate will be given considerable responsibility and the opportunity to eventually operate his or her own files after receiving meaningful training from experienced staff and exhibiting the requisite skills and judgment. The position requires the ability to work independently and receive instructions from the Senior Legal Team.
Requirements
The successful candidate must be organized,
accurate and detail‑oriented.
Strong written and oral communication skills required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, is essential
A college diploma/certificate in Legal Administration or Law Clerk is preferred, or alternatively, equivalent work experience
Commitment to learning legal concepts (reading materials, webinars, etc.)
Knowledge of the leasing or finance industry is considered an asset
Bilingualism in English and French is also considered an asset
Salary
$42,000 - $58,000 a year
* Salary will be based on experience
