The Mental Wellness Facilitator will work collaboratively with other staff and participants in delivering the Y Mind Teen and Youth Mental Health program. This position works 20hrs/week and some evening and/or weekend work may be required.
Responsibilities Intake of program applicants through online intake.
Co-facilitate group sessions online.
Maintain a strengths-based approach that inspires participants to engage in self-development & change.




Meet virtually with participants following program completion.
Support applicants and participants to contact appropriate referrals to community agencies.
Organization of data for evaluation of program.
Communicate regularly with the YMCA Hub including completing a post-program report.
Requirements Higher level education in mental health or counselling, such as a BSW, or equivalent combination of experience and education required (ie. BSW and 3 years' experience in the field).
Minimum of 2 years experience conducting intakes and assessments.
Experience working with youth (13-30 years of age) experiencing mild-to-moderate anxiety and mood problems.
Experience facilitating mental wellness/psycho-educational groups.
Ability to recognize mental health signs & symptoms beyond the mild-to-moderate spectrum.
Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check prior to first day of work & dated no more than 3 months before hire date.
