Help people access necessary resources as a Homeless Outreach Worker in Penticton, BC. This temporary full-time position is vital for addressing homelessness and is a stepping-stone to a permanent role.
In this role, you will facilitate outreach services aimed at engaging unhoused adults in the Penticton area. Responsibilities include assessing clients' needs, connecting them to housing options, and assisting them in achieving personal goals. Ongoing follow-up and supportive advocacy will be integral to your work.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver outreach services to those experiencing homelessness
• Assess needs and develop client support strategies
• Connect individuals to housing and other essential services
• Provide transportation for clients when required
• Help clients meet their basic needs through advocacy
Requirements:
• BSW or equivalent post-secondary education
• 2+ years working with high-risk clientele
• Valid class 5 Driver’s License and reliable transportation
• Training in First Aid and Crisis Intervention
• Solid communication skills and teamwork ability
