Position Overview
Kopahawakenum School on the Flying Dust First Nation near Meadow Lake Saskatchewan requires a TERM HeadStart/Nursery Instructor. Kopahawakenum School is an Aboriginal HeadStart/Nursery, and K-8 school.

Responsibilities

Be sensitive to the needs of students

Be reliable, motivated, and a team player as well as capable of working independently

Assess students in initial screening, ongoing developmental, and specialized assessments

Utilize organizational skills and planning abilities to include assessment process as well as plan and program holistic age-appropriate activities (physical, social-emotional, spiritual, and intellectual)





Work in a multi-cultural community and engage students of varying abilities

Establish and maintain close communication with parents and family members, including home visits when necessary

Qualifications

Diploma or Certificate in Early Childhood Education

Must lead a healthy lifestyle

Positive role model

Maintain and support confidentiality

Solid organizational and planning skills

Knowledge of First Nation culture and values

Classroom behavior support skills

Professional and ethical classroom practice
