Performs various clerical activities in the billing department, including data entry, information verification and bill generation. Additionally, will play a crucial role in resolving billing discrepancies and providing exceptional customer service to address inquiries related to billing and invoicing.
Location: Surrey, British Columbia
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 40 hours
What you’ll do
Check the data input in the accounting system to ensure accuracy of final bill
Ability to manage high volumes of data and approvals in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to shift gears during the day when priorities or time sensitive tasks are assigned.
Demonstrate a clear understanding and knowledge in the tasks required and be able to support other areas of Billing when needed.
Work in compliance of accounting policies and procedures and suggest ways to continually improve processes and procedures as applicable.
Develop and create processes related to specific billing tasks and responsibility, as per designated assignments and duties.
Responsible for communications and continuous dialogue with customers; following up on inquiries and discrepancies; seeking appropriate approvals for any adjustments, all while providing top notch customer service and business etiquette.
Answer questions and handle complaints from customers regarding bills.
Report on activity to upper management.
Work with and as a part of project teams to provide billing and accounts receivable support and respond to queries of the project/business unit managers.
Audit support, investigate inquiries and anomalies, as required.
Special projects and other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
3-5 years of relevant experience within a Billing Support role
Transportation industry experience would be a strong asset
Proven experience as Billing Clerk or general Accounting experience.
Adherence to company policies and confidentiality guidelines
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent math ability
Good organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High school diploma, and additional accounting education would be a plus
Ability to work independently and in a team workplace, able to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines
Commitment to continuous improvement and excellent customer service
Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis on Word, Excel and Outlook. Working knowledge of relevant software (e.g. Truck Mate) will be appreciated
