Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time intermediate to senior legal administrative assistant. Previous experience in an insurance defense or personal injury litigation firm is an asset. After completion of a probation period, there may be an option to work from a home office one day per week should the successful applicant work a 5‑day work week.
Qualifications
- Well‑organized team player with a positive attitude.
- Positive communicator and proactive with file management.
- Previous experience in an insurance defense or personal injury litigation firm (asset).
- Proficiency with Worldox and Microsoft Office (asset).
- Experience with filing, typing, trial preparation, and maintaining paperless files.
Responsibilities
- Drafting form letters and documents.
- Scheduling appointments with experts, clients, and opposing counsel.
- Scheduling discovery, trial, and other court dates.
- Maintaining a calendar and reminder system for tasks and appointments.
- Serving notices of application and affidavits and preparing application records.
- Filing and typing documents.
- Assisting with trial preparation.
- Maintaining and updating documents on paperless files.
