Burns Lake is surrounded by many lakes, offering year‐round fishing, hunting, and a variety of water sports during the summer months.Local First Nations, including Wet'suwet'en First Nation, Lake Babine Nation, Cheslatta Carrier Nation, Ts'il Kaz Koh First Nation, Skin Tyee First Nation, and Nee‐Tahi‐Buhn Band, contribute to the historical, cultural and economic diversity of the region.The town also supports local industries such as logging, saw‐milling, mining, and tourism,

Priorities include student learning, serving diverse communities, consultative collaboration with families and colleagues, and commitment to excellence, diversity, and Truth and Reconciliation.
