Contribute to Iqaluit’s recreational landscape as a full time Facilities Worker. Manage maintenance tasks and operate various facilities to enhance community engagement.
This role is essential for advancing recreational programs under the supervision of the Facilities Coordinator. Ideal candidates will have custodial experience and proficiency in an Indigenous language to effectively engage with the local community. Certification in CPR and First Aid is either required or must be obtained upon hiring.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and operate arenas, ball fields, and parks
• Develop and execute recreational initiatives tailored to community needs
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance duties as necessary
• Ensure facility safety and compliance with standards
• Collaborate closely with Facility Coordinator on plans
Requirements:
• Grade 10 or equivalent education required
• CPR and First Aid certification or ability to acquire
• 0-1 year experience in custodial work
• Proficiency in an Indigenous language is necessary
• Criminal record check is a requirement
