Become a Youth Development Worker (Float) with PLEA Community Services in Maple Ridge. This full-time, temporary position empowers youth through support, mentorship, and community engagement.
As a part of the Ridge Meadows and Tri-Cities teams, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the lives of youth based in Maple Ridge and Port Coquitlam. The focus will be on recognizing and addressing their needs, providing emotional support, and fostering useful community connections while monitoring youth who are under court mandates.
Key Responsibilities:
• Foster relationships that promote youth emotional health
• Develop interventions based on youth's individual needs
• Collaborate with families and community resources
• Facilitate special services for youth and families
• Teach critical life skills for personal development
Requirements:
• Robust facilitation and teaching skills
• Experience with youth at risk of homelessness
• Understanding of youth justice and related legislation
• Ability to work independently and in teams
• Valid Class 5 or 7N Driver's License and access to a vehicle
