About the Role Our client, a well established investment management firm, is seeking a Tax Specialist with solid expertise in preparing T3 trust returns. This is a part time role designed for an experienced trust tax professional who can independently manage the full T3 filing process across multiple entities. The workload will average 10 to 15 hours per week, with the option for increased hours during periods of higher volume or year end cycles.
Key Responsibilities Prepare T3 trust returns, schedules, and supporting documentation
Review trust financial statements to ensure accurate income allocations, capital gains, and reporting
Ensure compliance with CRA requirements and filing deadlines
Collaborate with finance and investment operations teams to gather and validate required information
Identify discrepancies or issues and recommend corrective action




Maintain organized workpapers and documentation to support audits and compliance reviews
Provide additional tax support during peak periods when filing volumes increase
Qualifications Minimum 2 years of hands on T3 trust return preparation experience
Solid understanding of trust taxation, income allocations, capital gains, and CRA reporting requirements
Experience in investment management, fund administration, or public accounting is an asset
Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and time management skills
Ability to work independently within a flexible schedule
Proficiency with tax preparation software and Excel
