As a Cook I, you will work under the Nutrition Services Supervisor, preparing and distributing meals according to prescribed dietary needs and menu specifications. With a robust background in food service, your role will also include monitoring food temperatures and assisting with menu evaluations. Your organizational skills will shine as you help guide staff and coordinate kitchen activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare food according to therapeutic diet guidelines
• Maintain safety practices in food handling and sanitation
• Supervise Nutrition Services staff in manager's absence
• Document food temperatures and compliance records
• Participate in quality assurance audits and procedures
Requirements:
• Grade 12 education aligned with local standards
• Required or obtaining Food Handler Training Certificate Level 1
• Previous cooking and healthcare food service experience
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Capability to respect cultural diversity
