Compensation Range: $30 to $40 per hour (base pay only; overall compensation depends on location, skillset, education, and experience)
Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance on customer forklifts and other material handling equipment.
Diagnose and repair all forms of customer equipment.
Complete each repair job in a timely, efficient, and professional manner.
Provide exceptional customer service.
Work and manage workloads independently.
Properly complete and submit all required paperwork.
Manage company vehicle and on-board parts inventory.
Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time.
Qualifications
Two years of forklift repair experience is highly desired.
Previous field experience is highly preferable.
Strong working knowledge of electric and liquid propane units.
Excellent mechanical aptitude.
Possess own tools.
Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license to drive the company vehicle.
Computer skills:
Hyster TKC training software and Yale/Hyster contact management system.
Language skills - intermediate: read/interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before customer or employee groups.
Mathematical skills - basic: ability to add and subtract.
Reasoning ability - intermediate: apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands & Work Workplace
Physical/Sensory Functions: regular standing, walking, hand use, reaching; frequent talking/hearing; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
Vision: no special vision requirements.
Lift and/or Move Functions: regular lift up to 10 pounds; frequent lift 11–25 pounds; occasional lift 26–100+ pounds.
Work Environment: regular exposure to moving mechanical parts; frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions; occasional wet or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat (non-weather); risk of electrical shock, vibration.
